DO NOT COMPARE

TEXT–,1 Cor 10:12b; But they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves are not wise.

Comparison is at the very root of these twin evil ,envy and jealousy which keep causing unimaginable havoc in our midst.
What is envy? -A feeling of discontentment or resentment aroused by someone else possession or qualities. It is an evil desire to have something belonging to another. Envy is a fig tree, it is cancerous and has led to much murder on the face of the earth,Gen 4:8.

You can now see why the all knowing God says, do not compare because of the evil potentials inherent in comparison.Comparison, a simple Word but dangerously potent. Little wonder, Jam 3:16 states that where there is envy and strife, there is confusion and every evil work. Let us learn to take GOd’s Word at face value, avoid what He says to avoid, because He sees what we do not see. Humanity has been set on fire by, a seemingly little act of eating the forbidden tree.

Like wise, we should treat comparison like that forbidden tree because of the evils, it is capable of causing. Comparison will terminate your sense of purpose,gratitude and joy. This is because , comparison is simply undermining what God has put in, and done for you. It is exalting and preferring another to you,Psm 139:14.Comparison reveals our gross ignorance and lack of direction.

Wise people understand that, God has wired them so differently, and therefore, no basis for comparing with anyone. They are ever focused on their assignment and are full of exploits. David,Saul and Cain murdered because of envy aroused by cmparison, Saul was very close to that. Let us flee from this multi-edged evil, focus on our purpose, and watch our world, locate and celebrate us, hallelujah!!!
